How It All Started
ROY GILAD
Mr. Gilad has been our President and Chairman of the Board since our inception in San Ramon, California. Mr. Gilad is also the CEO and Chairman of Vitality Bowls Enterprises and corporate locations, and has held those positions since their inception in May 2011, March 2012, February 2013 and March 2016 respectively.
TARA GILAD
Mrs. Gilad has been our Vice President and Secretary of the Board of Directors since our inception in San Ramon, California. Ms. Gilad is also the COO and Secretary of Vitality Bowls Enterprises and corporate locations, and has held those positions since their inception in May 2011, March 2012, February 2013 and March 2016 respectively.

OUR STORY

2009

Our amazing daughter was born and we quickly realized she had severe food allergies. Through necessity, we made it our mission to find the best ingredients in the safest venues for our daughter’s health.

2011

In October 2011 we opened our first restaurant in San Ramon, CA. We used the world’s healthiest superfoods in an allergy safe kitchen with no cross-contamination of ingredients. We were committed to ensuring the environment was safe for our daughter and for others who suffered from food allergies. We chose açai as the staple in our food because it’s considered the leading superfood in the world due to its high nutritional content. We had our incredible son two months later!

2012

What an incredible adventure this was becoming! We were so successful with our first location, we opened our second Vitality Bowls in the Stoneridge Mall located in Pleasanton, CA.

2012

In 2012 shortly after our second location opened, our local communities embraced us and we were picking up steam. Our mission evolved to bringing our superfoods to all the communities possible. We needed more help and Tara’s brother, Uriah Blum, joined Vitality Bowls as a vice president of operations bringing an extensive culinary background and several years of experience in the foodservice industry.

2013

In July 2013, we were so excited to open our largest and highest producing Vitality Bowls in Walnut Creek, CA. At 1500 ft.² this location is ideal for hosting business meetings, birthday parties, sports teams meetings, mommy groups, or any fun events.

2014

After receiving many requests to open locations outside our area, in 2014 Vitality Bowls started franchising in hopes of bringing the healthiest superfoods to every community across the country in an allergy-safe environment. We continue our quest to find the perfect franchisees to further our mission in their own communities.
