BY CULTURE MAP DALLAS – The healthy bowls rush is on, and a new concept will open in Dallas in the fall. Called Vitality Bowls, it’s a California-based company which is in heavy franchise mode: There are more than 50 Vitality Bowls restaurants across the United States, including locations in Irving, Colleyville, and Frisco, with an additional 50-plus franchise units under development.

Local entrepreneur Todd Stein will open the first café in Dallas at Preston Hollow Village in the fall, with two more locations in the works.

Stein, who previously worked in the advertising industry, says that Vitality Bowls is unlike any other fast-casual eatery option in Dallas.

“My first bite of an açaí bowl at Vitality Bowls was a game-changer,” he says.

Açaí bowls are Vitality Bowls’ specialty. They feature a thick blend of the Amazon’s antioxidant-rich berry, topped with a variety of superfoods. No fillers such as ice, frozen yogurt, added sugar, or artificial preservatives are used.

The menu features a wide variety of unique superfoods, including graviola, acerola, mangosteen, camu camu, spirulina, aronia, moringa, maca, bee pollen, and more.

Guests can choose from options such as the Green Bowl, with organic graviola, spirulina, and hemp seeds; the Dragon Bowl, with organic pitaya, coconut milk, and bananas; and the signature Vitality Bowl, with organic açaí, strawberries, and honey.

They also serve juices, smoothies, soups, panini, salads, and organic kombucha on-tap.

Vitality Bowls was founded in 2011 in San Ramon, California, by Roy and Tara Gilad, who discovered their daughter had severe food allergies and wanted to find alternatives.
