The healthy “bowls” trend continues to flourish, and here’s a new one in Mansfield to add to the list: Vitality Bowls, a chain from California, is opening a café at 3030 E. Broad St. #120, in a former dental office.
According to a release, it’ll open on July 26.
The location comes from local residents and entrepreneurs Chris and Rena Boyd, who say in a statement that they’re thrilled to expand Vitality Bowls into the Mansfield community.
“Our café is more than just healthy food – it’s a lifestyle,” said Boyd, who brings his background in operations and supply management as well as a commitment to wellness.
“We freshly prepare each item using the highest quality ingredients,” he says. “Plus, all açaí bowls and smoothies are prepared without fillers like ice or frozen yogurt.”
Açaí bowls are Vitality Bowls’ specialty. They feature a thick blend of the Amazon’s antioxidant-rich berry, topped with a variety of superfoods such as mangosteen and spirulina.
Signature bowls include the Superfood Bowl, made with acai, pitaya, almond milk, organic granola, cacao nibs, and goji berries; as well as non-bowl options like the Chimichurri Steak Wrap, with greens, grass-fed sous-vide steak, and grains wrapped in a tomato basil tortilla.
Other options include cold-pressed juices such as their signature “Green Me Up,” plus energy and immunity shots made with ginger, turmeric, fruits, and vegetables.
Vitality Bowls was founded in 2011 in San Ramon, California, by Roy and Tara Gilad, who discovered their daughter had severe food allergies and wanted to find alternatives.
Vitality entered the DFW area in 2018 with a location in Dallas, which has since closed. There are currently locations in Southlake, Plano, McKinney, and two locations in Frisco.
“We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of our newest Vitality Bowls café led by Chris and Rena Boyd. As a brand deeply committed to nourishing communities, we’re confident that Chris and Rena are the perfect entrepreneurs to share the delicious and nutritious world of Vitality Bowls with more communities in Texas,” said Tara Gilad, co-founder and president of Vitality Bowls. “Their business experience, commitment to customer service, and understanding of our mission make them the ideal partner to grow our vibrant superfood concept and revolutionize healthy eating in Mansfield”.
Customers can also enjoy exclusive Vitality Bowls cold-pressed juices, including signature Green Me Up and C Me Up flavors, and energy and immunity-boosting shots made with ginger, turmeric and a variety of fruits and vegetables.
The Vitality Bowls Loyalty Club, the brand’s mobile app and loyalty program, adds another layer of convenience to the guest experience. The program allows members to accrue one Vitality Point for every dollar spent, redeem collected points, order online with ease and more. In addition to exclusive deals and freebies, Loyalty Club members can redeem a complimentary açaí bowl on their birthday and earn a $10 reward for every 150 Vitality Points they accumulate.
Roy and Tara Gilad founded Vitality Bowls in 2011 in San Ramon, California. The duo started the superfood café concept as a result of discovering their daughter’s severe food allergies and wanting to find safe, healthy food alternatives. Since franchising began in 2014, the brand has grown to more than 145 cafés open and in development.
