BY THE TUALATIN TIMES – Vitality Bowls will offer nutritious, exotic meals starting next week at Nyberg Rivers.
Coming soon, a new restaurant will join the ranks of eateries at the Nyberg Rivers shopping center. Vitality Bowls is slated to open Thursday, Oct. 12, as the first of its kind in Oregon.
The California-based cafe specializes in nutrient-dense “superfood” ingredients such as acai, a berry that grows on palm trees in the Brazilian rain forest and boasts a high concentration of antioxidants. Vitality Bowls blends the frozen berries into a thick consistency and using no fillers, such as ice or yogurt, to create nutritious bowls that supposedly taste as great as they make you feel.
The taste is “a completely unique experience,” according to Jeff Madden, owner of the cafe. He describes the flavor as “mildly sweet — vaguely similar to cacao.” Topped with fresh fruit and “awesome” granola, the bowls are nutritious and surprisingly filling, said Madden.
In addition to the superfood bowls and smoothies, fresh paninis and salads offer different menu options for those leery of the acai bowls. Organic kombucha and a coffee bar complete a scene that invites customers to linger — or grab a healthy meal and caffeine on the go. The superfood cafe is also hyper-focused on providing a worry-free experience for those with food allergies, with a kitchen set-up that eliminates risk of cross-contamination, said Madden.
Madden is confident the cafe will fit well into the fabric of the Tualatin community.
“Oregonians are very focused on health, and high quality,” he said. He believes Vitality Bowls will provide just the treat.
The cafe will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days per week. Its address is 7935 S.W. Nyberg St., Suite 135.
