Seven new restaurants opened in our region this week
From Morris County to Bergen (and taco joints to “eclectic” fine dining), here they are:
Vitality Bowls, a national health-food chain known for its acai bowls, wraps and smoothies opened its newest location in Harrison. Menu highlights include a Beach Bowl with strawberries and pineapple, and a Nutty Bowl with peanut butter, granola and banana.
Arca Restaurant and Lounge, an upscale Northern Italian restaurant opened in Lincoln Park. The concept took the place of the former 202 Bistro, and offers chic vibes, high-end fare and craft cocktails.
Yemen Land Restaurant, a Middle Eastern eats spot devoted to Yemeni cuisine opened in Paterson. Early reviews — of dishes from lamb to whole fish — suggest the food is “very tasty.”
Chocolate Moonshine Co., a homemade fudge and confections chain, opened a kiosk in the American Dream Mall. Fudge flavors range from Pecan Turtle to Crême Brûlée, while confections include “ultimate” chocolate dipped Oreos and booze-infused truffle bars.
Taqueria Los Güeros, a local fast-casual Mexican food chain opened its latest location in Clifton. The spot is located on Route 3, and boasts all of same juicy carnitas, stuffed burritos and savory tacos (of course) as its other Jersey outposts.
Pachamama, a Latin American fusion restaurant opened in Green Brook. The chef Ricardo Ramirez previously worked at NYC’s Mission Ceviche, and is cooking up dishes from Hanger Steak Lomo Saltado to Pork Belly Guacamole.
87 Sussex, a cosmopolitan restaurant offering an eclectic, globally-inspired “new dining experience” opened in Jersey City. On the meticulously crafted menu? Escargot Wontons, Foie Gras “Cotton Candy” and Barolo Braised Short Ribs with white sweet potatoes.

Behind the inception of Vitality Bowls is the inspiring story of Roy Gilad and Tara Gilad, successful business owners who founded the superfood cafe in 2011 in San Ramon, California. Driven by their daughter’s severe food allergies and the quest for healthy, safe food alternatives, they embarked on this journey. Since beginning to franchise in 2014, Vitality Bowls has experienced remarkable growth, with more than 100 cafes now open or in development across the country. This growth is a testament to the Gilads’ commitment to bringing health and wellness to every community through fresh, high-quality superfoods.

‘It’s a lifestyle’
Amit Patel, an entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, said he and his partner, Tuhina Patel, are thrilled to introduce Vitality Bowls to Hudson County.
“Our café is more than just healthy food – it’s a lifestyle … Vitality Bowls is here to prove that eating nutritious food is 100% vital to a happy, healthy life and luckily for residents in Harrison, we’ve made it delicious, too,” he said.
Expressing confidence in the Patels, Vitality Bowls co-founder and President Tara Gilad said the company is excited about the arrival of its newest café.
“As a brand deeply committed to nourishing communities, we’re confident that they are the perfect entrepreneurs to share the delicious and nutritious world of Vitality Bowls with the Harrison community,” said Tara Gilad. “Amit’s background as a health professional, Tuhina’s outstanding leadership experience, and their shared understanding of our mission will put them in a prime position to grow our vibrant superfood concept in Harrison.”
