Vitality Bowls in Salt Lake City has partnered with professional basketball player, Royce O’Neale, to give back to students in underserved communities.
The initiative will kick off on June 21 with a brand-new açaí bowl hitting the Vitality Bowls menu at the Salt Lake City location. The limited-time UnBEETable Bowl was developed by O’Neale himself, made with açaí, bananas, strawberries, beet powder and almond milk and topped with organic granola, strawberries, blueberries, hemp seeds and honey.
“The opportunity to partner with Royce and assist in his foundation’s mission is very exciting,” said Carmela Sannuto, co-owner of the Vitality Bowls location in Salt Lake City with Daniel Fuentes. “I’m happy we’re able to help those in need through this collaboration.”
Twenty percent of all UnBEETable Bowl proceeds will go to the The Royce O’Neale Foundation. Royce and his mother, Deborah established the nonprofit in 2018 to provide mentoring and learning opportunities to bridge educational and economic gaps faced by students dealing with economic hardship.

The UnBEETable Bowl is available at the Salt Lake City Vitality Bowls location for a limited time only.
Vitality Bowls will open at 825 Hogestown Road in Silver Spring Township in mid-July. The cafe is owned by Meetul Patel, who operates one of the franchises in King of Prussia.
The Vitality Bowls chain, based in northern California, specializes in smoothies and açaí bowls, a thick blend of antioxidant-rich açaí berry, topped with a variety of superfoods. About 140 Vitality Bowls locations operate or are in development across the United States.
“I’m incredibly eager to bring the Vitality Bowls experience to the Mechanicsburg community,” Patel said in a statement. “The café specializes in delicious, clean food options and a broad menu. There’s truly something for everyone.”
Roy and Tara Gilad founded the first one in 2011 after discovering their daughter suffered from food allergies. They wanted to create a place to accommodate those wanting safe, healthy food options.
Diners can pick from a variety of power bowls such as a Dragon Bowl with pitaya, mango juice, coconut milk, bananas, pineapple and raspberries or a signature Vitality Bowl with organic açaí, bananas strawberries and organic flax seed.
The menu also steers to savory items including salads, grain bowls, wraps and toasts topped with a variety of toppings. A Vitality Wrap is made with hummus, avocado, super greens, grains, roasted potato, radish, pickled red onion, lemon tahini vinaigrette, vegan garlic aioli and superseed crunch, wrapped in a tomato basil tortilla.
The Vitality Bowls sits next to Tikka Shack, a quick-casual Indian restaurant. The cafe will operate daily with indoor and outdoor seating, curbside pickup and third-party delivery.
